My Bio

When is an image special? Anyone can take a picture, but capturing the feeling, the mood and the warmth held in a brief instant in time is something truly special. These are the results I strive to bring out in the images my camera captures. Every shot should contribute to a story, highlight the beauty of the subject and add to the situation.

I was formerly based out of the Los Angeles area but relocated to Huntsville, Alabama in 2008. I am available for TFP/TF-CD and paid assignments. At present, I'm doing limited TFP photo sessions. Ask! Photo sessions are cost negotiable. I'm willing to photograph: Art, Casual, Commercial (Head and Promos), Edgy (Alt, Goth, Punk, Industrial, Burlesque, etc), Fashion, Lingerie, Nude (implied and full - art not porn), Swimwear, Costumed (Steampunk, Cosplay and event), Fetish (negotiable), Pin-up, Headshots/Portraiture and Special events/Parties .

As policy, I prefer not working with under-age subjects (18+, sorry). This is based on liability and personal experience. My requirement they have an escort. As such, I will consider shoots on a case by case basis. These are difficult shoots due to logistics and the greater measure of care that must be exercise to protect the subject and the photographer.

At present, I have a 550 sq ft home studio. This includes a 10' x 20' backdrops, 5x450 watt LED spots, 2x600 watt Lowel Tota lights, background flash and posing mirror. I also use a number of shooting locations around the region instead of a set studio. This means, I'm willing to travel and shoot in unique locations and settings. No matter the circumstances of the shoot, the results and care that goes into it, are always the best.

Why is JJ Not Attending Frolicon Anymore?...

This is an abridged version of something I announced privately in another social media. I'm severing ties with annual fetish convention in Atlanta, Georgia called Frolicon. On 9 January, I was notified that I'd been banned from teaching / presenting for 2 years at the event. This would have been the 10th (and final) year I was presenting on photography, modeling and industry expectations. I was told I was suspended for taking photos without consent in my own photography class. This class was announced as a Trade For Photo (TFP) photo shoot. This is the class that we announced repeatedly that if anyone participated as a model, they had to sign a legally binding model release (and I have these releases and the sign-in sheets in my possession). This is the class that was announced in Guidebook to be in the exact same format as the Photo Meet & Greet events I host around the southeast. This is a class in which I received absolutely no complaints about or requests to withhold

Ladies and Gents, Much as I want to be here to rant and rave about how much Eclipse DA sucks (they know it does), I'm going to be taking a hiatus from most social media for the coming weeks. On April 11th while hiking and shooting nature photos with a friend, I rediscovered one of the primary Newtonian Laws on gravity. The ledge I was standing on about the waterfall in the background of this post, failed... Gravity being what it is, I fell between 30 to 40 feet (10 to 13 meters) down the face of the waterfall. I managed to keep my feet under me and didn't land on my head. Instead I broke my tailbone (busted my ass), lacerated my liver, damaged my rotator cuff and labrum, badly sprained my right knee and the list goes on. Surprisingly, I managed to crawl up the side of the ravine and get back to the main trail. Next week I have surgery to repair the rotator cuff and labrum muscle tear. I will be away from DA for the next few weeks afterwards (not that many will notice).
